Best Free All‑Day Parking Lots

Knox Mill Lot: Behind Knox Mill (Knowlton & Washington St)

Public Safety Building Lot: Adjacent to Police/Public Safety Building

Both are free all day and a short, pleasant walk to Mechanic Street

Climbing Site Parking Details

  • Camden Hills (Maiden Cliff, Barrett’s Cove):

    Park in the roadside pull-off on Route 52—just east of the Maiden Cliff trailhead. A small sandy area marks the trail start

  • Old Carriage Road Trail Head:

    Paid Parking Notes (Seasonal May 15–Oct 15)

    • Camden has seasonal on-street paid parking ($3/hour, 2‑hour max except Public Landing at 4 hours) from mid-May to mid-October  .

    • If using Mechanic Street or downtown lots during summer, be aware of these time limits and kiosks.

  • Arriving early gives you more flexibility—lots fill up fast in peak season.

  • Free lots are the best option for longer stays.
